Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and slice the potatoes thinly.
  3. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Heat until warm.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then pour half of the cream mixture and a layer of cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Top with remaining cheese and dot with butter.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
