  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla to the yeast mixture and stir until combined.
  3. Gradually add flour, salt, and cinnamon, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Once risen, roll the dough out and sprinkle with chopped pecans and a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and slice into individual buns.
  8. Place the buns in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Once baked, drench with a pecan glaze made from powdered sugar and melted butter.
