Ingredients
Scale
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 large egg
1 packet active dry yeast
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla to the yeast mixture and stir until combined.
Gradually add flour, salt, and cinnamon, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Once risen, roll the dough out and sprinkle with chopped pecans and a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Roll the dough tightly and slice into individual buns.
Place the buns in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
Once baked, drench with a pecan glaze made from powdered sugar and melted butter.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
These buns are best served warm fresh out of the oven.
